Self Love
"It costs you less to love yourself"
Are we obligated to love ourselves? What happens when we do? What happens when we don't?
Let's shut out all the noise and think about self love. By a certain age we know why it is important.
When you love yourself, it allows you to take care of you the best you can. It makes you happier and
that makes you a more pleasant person to be around. It helps you to achieve dreams as you believe you
deserve the best. On the other hand, low self esteem makes you self destructive as you don't have that
desire to treat yourself well. You may find yourself indulging in habits that hurt you and you attract
those who are also negative. A fulfilled life or an unfulfilled life can be yours just based on how you
feel about yourself.
What makes us love or not love ourselves? Can some of us naturally love ourselves? Does external
pressure affect how we feel about ourselves? Some people with little material possession can love
themselves while others need to keep up with the Joneses to feel worthwhile. I believe self love is the
launching pad to everything so it's best to practice it.
Although I may have said it a little differently, I understand you wanted to keep this short and to the point. So I will agree with one added point. I don't see how people can say they love others when they show any evidence of loving themselves.
ReplyDeleteJust a suggestion. If you don't want to be around people that not only don't love themselves but probably hate you as well....don't get a government job. By design there is very little love to be found there.
ChrisJ, you made me chuckle with your point about a government job. Shouldn't those government employees be happy as they have a certain level of job security? Many even earn big bucks while being incompetent.
DeleteSelf-love is crucial to our well being. It determines whether or not we strive in various aspects of our lives.
